Grass Fed Beef
We have made it our mission to show that grass-fed beef can taste great and be tender on a consistent basis. You should find Deer Run Farm's meat to be the best-tasting, most consistent grass-fed beef available.
Our cattle eat nothing but grass and hay from birth to finish. They are never given additives, synthetic growth hormones or antibiotics. Our cattle eat what God designed their bodies to digest-GRASS-nothing more and nothing less.
Grass-fed beef is lower in total fat, saturated fat,and cholesterol. It also has more Vitamin E, beta carotene and a number of health-promoting fats, including omega-3 fatty acids.
Why does our grass-fed beef taste superior on a consistent basis? We believe it has everything to do with our soil, our grass, our genetics, our processing standards and our humane treatment of our animals. Taste the difference!

Our pastured chickens are raised on our fresh, green pastures. They are housed in "chicken tractors", which protect them from predators and are moved twice daily to insure a continuous diet of wonderful green grass. Chickens require a grain supplement for the protein content and we use only Non-GMO, Soy-Free feed. This natural low-stress environment produces a bird with a juicy, tender taste that cannot be beat.
Research demonstrates that pasture-raised poultry yields more nutritious meat. One independent study revealed that compared to conventional chicken meat, pastured chicken meat contained 21% less total fat, 30% less saturated fat, 50% more vitamin A and 100% more omega-3's.

Our laying hens are housed in mobile chicken houses which are moved throughout our 200 acre farm. They are allowed to roam freely from sunrise to sunset, eating a natural diet of grass. Chickens require a grain supplement for the protein content and we use only Non-GMO, Soy-Free feed.
Most of the eggs currently sold in supermarkets are nutritionally inferior to eggs produced by hens raised on pasture. According to Mother Earth News (Free-Range Test Results, 2007), eggs from hens raised on pasture may contain:
- 1/3 less cholesterol
- 1/4 less saturated fat
- 2/3 more vitamin A
- 2 times more omega-3 fatty acids
- 3 times more vitamin E
- 7 times more beta carotene
Our customers and their children tell us they will never go back to their supermarket eggs. They appreciate the tasty orange yolks and thick whites of their farm fresh eggs!
